Nanjing

Nanjing means "Southern capital" and has been the capitol of China on and off throughout the Dynasties.  Due to it's location on the Yangtze river, it is a major hub of industry, shipping and trade as well as culture.

OCOM students stay in a hotel in close proximity to the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and some of the hospitals where we send student observers.   For those stationed at hospitals farther away, the subway or a campus bus will get you there. Te hotel is also directly across from Mochou Lake which makes for a beautiful walk at anytime and a great escape from the bustle of city life.

Here's the lake:

And here's some shots from inside the hotel:

And the breakfast buffet which is included in the cost of your room:

Once you've finished breakfast it's either a short walk to clinic, to the campus for your ride or to the subway station across the street from the hotel:

The subway comes every 7 minutes and a one way token costs 2 yuan, or around 30 cents.

Hanzhong gate and the surrounding park.  A piece of ancient history and a major landmark to help you orient yourself near the NJUCM campus.
